Nature of Physics Laws

Steps of scientific method

  • Systematic observation- scientists do experiments and collect data related to problem by taking systematic observation.
  • Formation of Hypothesis- Scientists explain the and do furtur experiments, and then, this data becomes a working principle. And then this working principle is taken as hypotheisis.
  • Testing the validity of hypotheisis- From hypothesis,Conclusions and predictions are made and then new experiments on hypothesis are followed.
  • Formation of Principle- After experiments if hypothesis is verified, then it becomes law. In case when it does not get verified then new hypothesis is formed, And experiments are repeated and then it become Principle.
  • Formation of Law- Generally the priciple is applicable for only limited phenomenon. then, new principle is made and scientist do testing and if it is applicsble for all phenomenon it became law. Incase the principle which is taken is applicable or true for all phenomenon, then it directly becomes law.
  • Note: Law cannot be changed but principle can be changed

Sometimes established principle may not agree with new observation or principle then it is not completely discarded but it is modified.

Aryabhatt's Golpadah

  • Due to rotation of Earth, Near the equator fixed stars appear to move from east to west.
  • When Earth comes in between sun and moon, Then the Shadow of Earth forms on moon and at that time lunar eclipse is formed
  • Aryabhatt explains that the sun is the center for all other planets along with earth. And in this way he tells the whole world that sun does not revolve around earth but the earth revolves around sun.
